Red Panda Network has been expanding our red panda monitoring and conservation area to include 54 Forest Guardians from 27 Village Development Communities (VDCs), working in 35 Community Forests and 4 National Forests. But this number needs to continue to grow in order to protect red pandas and their habitat from threats such as deforestation and illegal poaching.
Why Sponsor a Red Panda Network Forest Guardian?
Forest Guardians are the key to the future of red panda: they mobilize the community into action in preserving the biodiversity of local forests.
Forest Guardians work within their respective communities to create a Community Forest Network, which empowers local people to protect their forests. They monitor and protect red panda habitat, as well as educate their communities about the importance of the red panda to their future. The baseline data that they collect enables us to develop effective conservation strategies and assess our ongoing conservation efforts.
Your Forest Guardian sponsorship not only helps protect the red panda in its natural habitat; it helps support a family at the same time.
