The Himalayan Habre Center (or Habre Center) is a hub for educational and skill-building workshops where local people can learn sustainable energy use and construction, organic farming, handicraft production, sustainable herding, bio-briquette production, nature guide and ecotrek leadership and homestay management.
Construction began in 2019, and the Habre Center opened on Earth Day 2023! As with all RPN initiatives, our goal is for the Center to eventually be self-sustaining and locally operated. The Habre Center will be a conservation and education center. It will improve living standards and increase the annual income of at least 2,000 local families.
