Introducing the Red Panda Network Forest Guardians
Red Panda Network has tripled our red panda monitoring and conservation area in 2013/14 to include 54 Forest Guardians from 27 Village Development Communities (VDCs), working in 35 Community Forests and 4 National Forests.
Why Sponsor a Red Panda Network Forest Guardian?
Forest Guardians are the key to the future of red panda: they mobilize the community into action in preserving the biodiversity of local forests.
Forest Guardians work within their respective communities to create a Community Forest Network, which empowers local people to protect their forests. Our forest guardians monitor and protect red panda habitat, as well as educate their communities about the importance of red panda to their future. They monitor red panda habitat monthly in order to collect the important baseline data that enables us to develop effective conservation strategies and assess our ongoing conservation efforts.
Your Red Panda Network Forest Guardian sponsorship not only helps protect the Red Panda in its natural habitat. It helps support a family at the same time. Your sponsorship will fund Forest Guardian base salary, training and dispatch, protective field clothing & gear, and field research equipment.
